Dear Senator Bayh:
We hope that you and your family and staff are well and secure.
We are approaching the end of the fourth year of military action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over 2482 US troops have been killed, over 17,000 wounded, and many more will have mental wounds.
This is too high a price to pay for the revenge of the deaths and wounded citizens of 9/11. It is too high a price to pay for oil. It has brought us neither security nor peace nor satisfaction. Our own disaster areas are suffering mightily. We will pay dearly for many years through war taxes.
We would like to know two things: 1) the approximate timetable for the removal of our troops in Iraq and 2) what plans are in place to remove our weapons of mass destruction, such as Hummers, tanks and missiles with depleted uranium in them from Iraq and Afghanistan
I included a copy of the week's US dead.
Best regards
Ellyn
