SPONSOR'S INFORMATION CURSILLO IN CHRISTIANITY PLEASE PRINT ALL INFORMATION

The purpose of sponsoring a candidate is to help bring someone closer to Christ so he/she will share that union by evangelizing his/her environments. Your candidate must be a baptized Roman Catholic who is stable, mature, and responsible. The Cursillo is not intended to take the place of professional help for personal problems. Cursillo holds the highest regard for the Sacrament of Marriage, and if participation in a Cursillo by one spouse and not the other might have an adverse effect on the Sacrament, please suggest some other form of spiritual renewal. Please take the time through prayer to determine that your friend is ready for the Cursillo and Post Cursillo.

As a sponsor, you need to describe the Cursillo openly and honestly to your candidate. Do not be secretive. You may give him/her the "WHAT IS IT" brochure. You need to bring your candidate to the weekend Thursday evening, attend the closing on Sunday, take him/her home Sunday night, and accompany him/her to the following Thursday Ultreya. Please provide assistance to the candidate's family during the absence of the spouse, and let him/her know when he/she will be home Sunday night.

Ultreya and Group Reunion offer continuing support for evangelizing our environments during our Fourth Day. After your candidate's weekend, please help your candidate find a permanent Group Reunion and become part of the Cursillo Community by attending Ultreyas together until he/she feel comfortable. As a Sponsor you can invite a potential candidate to your Group Reunion and Ultreya before he/she make his/her weekend.
