Indiana Center for Family, School & Community PartnershipsPARTNERS IN LEARNINGVol. 2:2 ~ Winter 1999
There are countless good reasons to take the time to assess where you are-and where you might be going- in the area of family-school partnerships. Typically, schools are charged with including a family involve-ment focus in their PBA and Title I planning. More and more grantors are requiring evidence of family-school partnerships. Yet school committees often feel at loose ends when it comes to family involvement planning. Assessments can help. They identify current practices, target strengths and weaknesses, and bring in multiple perspectives. They help educators retain their objectivity, assess their progress and improve their work. They provide parents a way for their voices to be heard and give them a sense of connection with the school. And they help everyone answer the questions, "What's going well?" and "What could be going better?" CONTENTS:
