Marie A. Blunt

M.Min., Executive Director

Marie Blunt received her Master of Ministry from Bethel College in 1997. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1983 from the University of Illinois. Since 1993 she has served as a Stephen Leader, training and coordinating lay people for pastoral care ministry. In 2000 she became Executive Director of the Samaritan Counseling Center.

Tony Garascia

Tony GarasciaMA, MS, LCSW, NCC, Clinical Director

Tony Garascia received his Masters in Counseling from Indiana University at South Bend in 1976. In addition he received a Masters in Liturgical Studies in 1978 from the Catholic University of America.

Tony has over 21 years of experience counseling individuals, couples, families, adolescents and children. His areas of specialty include marriage and relationship issues, family difficulties, depression and anxiety, traumatic stress and bereavement work and sexual identity issues. He works with clients from age seven up. He is the author of the popular marriage preparation programs Before “I Do” and Catholic Remarriage (Ave Maria Press), Rekindle the Passion While Raising Your Kids (Sorin Books), and Getting Married, Living Together (Ave Maria Press).

Tony is licensed in the State of Indiana as a Social Worker. He is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Indiana Counseling Association. He also is EMDR, Level II Certified.

Rev. Jeffrey L. Hawkins

BA, M. Div., Clergy & Congregational Care Director

Jeff received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Michigan State University in 1976 and his Masters in Divinity from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul , Minnesota in 1980.  

Jeff brings to the Center 23 years of pastoral experience leading a variety of congregations as well as six years of experience leading clergy wellness ministries.  His three years as Dean of the Northeast Conference of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the ELCA have given him practical experience consulting with pastors and congregations during both joys and sorrows.  He is a founding board member of the Education for Conflict Resolution Center in North Manchester , as well as a founding member and secretary of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the ELCA Conflict Management Committee.  He has served as a trainer in Conflict Management since 1988.

Keith Munneke

Keith MunnekeMDiv, MSW, LCSW, LMFT, Clinical Pastoral Counselor

Rev. Keith Munneke received his Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 1966. He received his Master of Science in counseling psychology in 1970 and his Master of Science in social work in 1971, both from the University of Wisconsin. He founded the Center in 1974.

Keith is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, an Associate Member of the Academy of Family Mediators, and is listed in the Clinical Registrar of the National Association of Social Workers. He is a state-certified clinical social worker (LCSW) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Auna Preston

Auna PrestonPhD, HSPP, Psychologist

Auna Preston received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 1985 and her Master of Arts in counseling psychology in 1976, both from the California Institute of Integrated Studies, San Francisco, California.

Auna is licensed by the State of Indiana as a Ph.D. psychologist. She has experience counseling individuals, couples, and groups. Her areas of specialty include compulsive overeating, depression, anxiety, marital problems, self esteem and self identity issues.

Auna is a member of the Indiana Psychological Association.

Geraldine Bryan

MSW, LCSW, Staff Therapist

  Geri received her Master of Social Work degree in 2002 from Indiana University . She completed her undergraduate studies at Indiana University  with a BA in Psychology and minors in Women's Studies and Gerontology.  

Geri’s treatment interests include grief, aging, women's issues, emotional wellness, parenting concerns, stress management, depression, bereavement and life coaching.    

Geri is licensed by the state of Indiana as a clinical social worker  She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and Indiana Society of Social Work Leadership in Health Care.  She has lived in South Bend all her life.

 

Lorraine Karam

Lorraine KaramMA, LMHC, Staff Therapist

Lorraine received her Master of Arts in clinical psychology in 1993 from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago and completed her undergraduate work at Indiana University, Bloomington in 1989.

Lorraine is licensed by the State of Indiana as a Mental Health Counselor. She has experience counseling adults and adolescents, both individually and in groups. Her treatment interests include women's issues, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, marital counseling, and spiritual issues.

Lorraine is certified through the North American Association of Masters in Psychology and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Karen Zeck

Karen ZeckMA, LMHC, Staff Therapist

Karen received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2000 from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. She completed her undergraduate work at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Northern Illinois University and the University of Guam.

Karen has experience with children and adolescents. Her treatment interests include couples and family counseling, grief recovery and women’s issues, especially those of women in missions. Karen and her family served in missionary radio work for twenty years in Sri Lanka and Guam.

Karen is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor through the state of Indiana.
